Crimson Desert Looks Like a Next-gen RPG
Korean studio Pearl Abyss presented a large gameplay from its impressive next-gen MMORPG project. The developer announces an extensive single player campaign during which we will be... touring.
Crimson Desert is the latest project of the Korean studio Pearl Abyss, which was shown during the VGA Awards Gala. The game began its life as a MMO prequel of Black Desert, but has since evolved in a new direction, becoming a completely independent game. The title combines the features of a classic action RPG like The Witcher 3, and an MMO with an emphasis on PvE gameplay.
In the first trailer, the players can see impressive gameplay fragments and numerous locations of the fantasy world called Pywell, which were developed using the latest graphic technologies. The main protagonist of the campaign is a mercenary named Macduff, who together with his companions will try to survive in the increasingly dangerous Pywell, getting involved in events that will affect the future of all its inhabitants. The devs have not yet confirmed whether we will be able to choose the sex and appearance of the protagonist.
The combat system is to be similar to the one found in Black Desert. During the adventure we will fight against various human opponents and many creatures inspired by Celtic and Nordic mythology. The title is to appear in 2021.
