Crime Boss on New Gameplay; FPS With Chuck Norris and 90s Stars

An FPS with movie stars (including Chuck Norris) has intrigued many people, but the first gameplay demonstration of Crime Boss: Rockay City failed to impress.

Since The Game Awards 2022 gala, gamers have been wondering what the newly announced game with Chuck Norris, Michael Madsen, Kim Basinger and many other action movie stars will look like. The answer is brought by the first gameplay preview from Crime Boss: Rockay City. You can watch the footage below.

The video, provided by GameSpot, shows six minutes from the game by Czech studio Ingame. In Crime Boss: Rockay City we will find ourselves in the eponymous fictional metropolis, designed in a style inspired by the 1990s, and take on the role of one of the contenders for the title of king of the criminal world.

To sit on the throne, it will be necessary to assemble a team of specialists and prove yourself in cooperative or solo missions similar to those from the PayDay series. All this with the participation of the immortal Chuck Norris and other famous actors.

Roundhouse kick or shot in the foot?

Of course, it was the all-star cast that caught the attention of those who watched this year's The Game Awards gala. It's just a shame that first gameplay has clearly cooled the enthusiasm of gamers.

Leaving aside the logical absurdities (is it appropriate to criticize a game inspired by 1990s action cinema for this?), the best that Internet users are saying about Crime Boss is that it is "PayDay with famous actors," and even such "praise" is rare. Suffice it to say that one of the most popular comments under the video is a joke (or conjecture) that the entire budget of the game was spent on paying the cast of actors.

Crime Boss: Rockay City will be released on March 28 on PC (Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, and that's when we'll finally see whether Ingame Studios will offer players something more than a "truncated PayDay".
