Comma and Decimal Point in Railway Empire 2 Explained
Railway Empire 2 has a rather unusual problem. It concerns the way numbers are written. In this guide you will find out what exactly it is about.
Railway Empire 2 is the second part of the economic strategy game series, in which we run our own railroad company. Unfortunately, some of the solutions found in the game, are not entirely clear to all players. After the release of the title, there were claims that the game has a bug that causes incorrect displaying of numbers. In this guide you will find out what this is actually about.
Railway Empire 2 - Comma and Decimal Point
At the outset, it should be noted that this is not a bug. The problem stems from differences in the way Europeans and Americans present numerical values. The title was developed by Gaming Minds Studios, an offshoot of Kalypso Media Group from Germany. As a result, the developers used European notation, in which thousands are separated by a period and decimal numbers by a comma.
However, this raises a problem for players coming from the United States. This is because there a reverse notation applies - thousands are separated by a comma and decimals by a period. The difference between the two versions is well illustrated by an example:
- European version: 2.137,04
- American version: 2,137.04
At this point there is no option to change how the number is represented. It is also unclear whether it will make it into the game at all. So those in the United States will have to get used to a different way of writing for now.
