CoD Warzone Records a Spike in Popularity
Four days after the launch, Call of Duty: Warzone devs boasted that 15 million players are already playing the game. The game has been a great success, and given the current situation in the world, the result may go much higher.
Call of Duty: Warzone, a free battle royale game based on CoD: Modern Warfare, made its launch just four days ago, and the devs can already boast of breaking the 15 million player threshold. On March 11, the number was "only" 6 million, which highlights how successful the title has been.
Due to the current global situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the number of players is expected to increase significantly. Many countries are closing down schools and some workplaces and encouraging people to spend their free time in the comfort of their homes. At this point, a lot of people will be happy to get a fresh (and free) title, which has really quite a lot to offer.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game supports cross-play between owners of different platforms. It also offers two gameplay options - typical battle royale and Plunder. The title recorded a strong start on popular streaming platforms such as Twitch and Youtube, and the developers try to ensure that emerging exploits are quickly removed and do not spoil the gameplay experience.
