Classic RPG Pathfinder: Kingmaker will make you a king – support it on Kickstarter

Fans of classic RPGs should keep an eye on Pathfinder: Kingmaker, which has just launched a Kickstarter campaign. Co-developed by Chris Avellone, the game will let you become an adventurer and king.

A Kickstarter campaign launched for Owlcat Games’ Pathfinder: Kingmaker yesterday, and it has already generated over $150,000, with half a million dollars being the set goal. What makes this game so popular? For starters, this is a classic isometric RPG with story co-written by Chris Avellone, a legendary game developer who greatly contributed to many of the best representatives of the genre, including the cult Planescape Torment, Fallout 2, Icewind Dale, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, Pillars of Eternity, Torment: Tides of Numenera, Divinity: Original Sin II and many others.

Another noteworthy thing is the game’s premise. Set in the Pathfinder universe (known from table-top RPGs), Pathfinder: Kingmaker offers far-reaching freedom when it comes to creating and progressing your own character as well as shaping the game’s world. You will not only be an adventurer, journeying together with a cast of colorful characters, but also become a king of your own kingdom, expand its borders, manage your territory and prove to be either a benevolent monarch or a merciless tyrant.
