Classes in Wartales Explained; List and Description
In this guide we will tell you what classes are available in Wartales. You will also learn what are their characteristic points.
Wartales is an appreciated tactical RPG that recently left early access. The title features complexity and a fair amount of freedom in creating your own party and experimenting with units. During the gameplay you can encounter 6 main classes, each of which is unique. In this guide we will describe them.
Brute
Brute is a class suitable for close combat. It is the backbone of your party. These heroes should be equipped with heavy armor and two-handed weapons. Their trump card is AoE attacks. This makes them good to use against many enemies at once. However, be careful, as they can injure allied units.
Archer
Archers are ideal support units, which are best suited for fighting at range. They can weaken the enemy even before they reach you. This means they are very well suited for defensive skirmishes in which you will wait for the enemy to approach. However, they have one big disadvantage - they can hit allied units. Therefore, it is recommended to use them with caution.
Swordsman
Swordsman is a versatile class. In fact, his role depends of the player. It can focus on protecting other units with a shield or use a two-handed weapon. So, use it in accordance with your own tactics. However, undoubtedly, a great asset of this unit is the ability to administer First aid. It enables you to heal a dying ally and also to remove poison, bleeding or burn debuffs.
Spearman
The advantage of Spearmen is range. Thanks to their weapon, they can attack enemies without approaching them and without engaging in close combat. The skills of this class enable it to knock back enemies, allowing for respite to units fighting at close quarters. In addition, spearmen deal quite a lot of damage. The downside is that they cannot not wear the heaviest armor.
Warrior
Warriors are a combination of the Swordsman and the Brute. These, too, are versatile units that can be developed to fight effectively against one or more opponents. This class is able to dish out considerable damage, however, if necessary, it can also serve as a defense for other party members.
Scout
Scouts are a class somewhat similar to the rogue. They are ideally suited to fighting with daggers (preferably poisoned). They perform very well against enemies without armor, especially thanks to a good chance of critical damage. This is a class made for attacks from behind and flanking. However, it is not best suited to be the party's shield.
Other classes
The above classes are the basic ones that the player can acquire during the game. However, there is also a chance to acquire other types of units. To do so, however, you must recruit prisoners. The process is described in a separate text.
