Cities Skylines 2 Will Get Fresh Content Update Before Christmas
The developers of Cities Skylines 2 will release the last update this year before Christmas. They also revealed what the priorities are for the game's development in 2024.
Cities: Skylines 2 players can look forward to one more update this year. Colossal Order will release the latest patch for its city builder this week, before the developers go to their Christmas rest.
The full list of changes in this patch will appear with its release. However, Mariina Hallikainen (head of the studio) briefly mentioned some of the fixes in a post published on Steam and publisher's official forum.
- The update will add an option to adjust the level of character detail and will improve the "geometric layout of objects," which is expected to be another (but not the last) change to improve optimization.
- The patch will also include a handful of gameplay fixes, including in the money system (to make it easier to manage the city's budget).
- In addition, the developers will include a "Christmas present" in the patch: two new maps, which were created as part of internal testing of CS 2 editor: Sunshine Peninsula (Land of the Eternal Sun) and Corral Richers (Flatland).
In addition, Hallikainen, as promised, discussed plans for the development of the second Cities: Skylines for 2024. In addition to releasing the game on consoles, mods and content packs (about which she already talked several times) Colossal Order will continue to focus on fixes, as well as looking at player feedback as "inspiration" for further development of CS2.
We will wait until January 15 for the next New Year's developer diary. Meanwhile, the release of Cities: Skylines 2 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S is scheduled for spring 2024.
