First Screenshots From Cities: Skylines 2 Revealed Prematurely by Microsoft
The first screenshots from Cities: Skylines 2 have been leaked, showing, among other things, a new interface and a more realistic visual style for the sequel.
The first screenshots from Cities: Skylines II, the sequel to Colossal Order's hit city-building strategy game, have been leaked.
- The screens were published prematurely on Microsoft Store.
- They have already been removed from the store (now only the CG trailer scenes remain), but earlier, one of the fans managed to make a copy of the page. So if you want to see these screenshots, head over to Reddit, and then open the link to web.archive.org.
- The graphics are intriguing not only because they are the first screenshots showing gameplay, but also because they show the changes the devs are planning.
- The screenshots suggest that Cities: Skylines II will abandon the slightly cartoonish style of the first installment in favor of more realistic graphics. This is not a new trend, as it could be partially seen already in the late DLC for the first game.
- In one of the screenshots you can also get a glimpse of the revised interface.
Recall that Cities: Skylines II is heading for PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, and the game will also be available as part of Game Pass. The release is expected to take place this year.
The developers recently announced that the sequel is being developed on the Unity engine, which was generally warmly received by fans of the brand, among other reasons, because it will significantly facilitate the creation of mods. However, the changes to the game are expected to be so large that it probably will not be possible to use mods from the first part, and it will first become necessary to rework them accordingly. In addition, contrary to the hopes of players, Cities: Skylines II will lack a multiplayer mode.
