Chris Hemsworth Reveals Furiosa is Different From His Other Action Movies
Chris Hemsworth revealed how working on the set of Furiosa differed from his previous blockbuster experiences.
Furiosa seems to be one of the most anticipated blockbusters of 2024. This is hardly surprising, as the prequel to the critically and audience acclaimed Mad Max: Fury Road has all the makings of a hit. Post-apocalyptic cinema genius George Miller was once again behind the camera, the shiver-inducing soundtrack was provided by Junkie XL, known from the previous installment, while the wasteland outsiders were played by Hollywood heavyweights Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth.
Hemsworth is mainly associated with his role as Thor in MCU superproductions. That he has much more to offer action cinema than running around in a cape, he proved in Extraction. In Furiosa the actor plays the role of Dementus, a cruel madman commanding a faction of desert bikers.
During the Brazilian CCXP, Hemsworth admitted how working on Miller's movie differed from his previous projects (via ComicBook.com).
"When you're making an action movie, you're constantly trying new things, experimenting and trying to make every sequence as spectacular as possible. You're constantly doing reshoots and testing different solutions, which can be exhausting. What was refreshing about working with George was that every frame was well thought out. Each frame was essential and served the whole. It was part of a larger plan and a signal that there was no room for waste here."
Hemsworth said that the entire crew was keenly involved on the set of Furiosa. The plot of the prequel to Fury Road is set fifteen years before the events of Miller's Oscar-winning production. Furiosa will hit theaters on May 24, 2024.
