Chernobyl VR Project Greenlit on Steam
Chernobyl VR Project is soon going to be available in Steam Store, as the virtual reality experience has been Greenlit by the community.
Chernobyl VR Project has been successfully Greenlit by Steam Community and will soon be available in Steam Store. In case you haven’t heard, Chernobyl VR Project is an exploration experience designed for virtual reality headsets by The Farm 51, the Polish team who had previously made Painkiller Hell & Damnation and Deadfall Adventures, and are currently working on Get Even. If you don’t want to wait for the Steam version, this—let’s call it—game is currently available for purchase for $14.99 on Oculus Rift official website.
Chernobyl VR Project offers a virtual tour around Chernobyl and Pripyat. In order to make the experience more authentic the developer reached out to people who had been near Chernobyl when the disaster hit, as well as those who helped clean up the site. They also contacted Svetlana Alexievich, the author of the book Chernobyl Prayer. Another asset of the game are the life-like graphics, which were created using advanced technologies, such as 3D scans of actual locations, spherical photography, and stereoscopic videos.
