Chef RPG is a new “farming” game like Stardew Valley, but you do not farm a lot. Your task is to run your own restaurant. In early access be prepared for romance but don’t expect coop very soon. The game was released on PC (eventually It will be compatible with Steam Deck), other platforms (except Switch) are not as certain though. In this guide we will tell you all you need to know about important choices from Chef RPG character creation menu.
- Which Season to choose in Chef RPG
- Which Specialty to choose in Chef RPG
- Which Skills to choose in Chef RPG
Which Season to choose in Chef RPG
Picking a season is the first thing you do in the game. All of them have some advantages and disadvantages except for Winter. Winter is definitely the worst season to pick to start your restaurant, as you will have to buy many products from the vendors, limiting foraging by a lot.
- Spring – plants and animals are in abundance.
- Summer – Fish and plants are easy to get; animals are harder to find.
- Autumn – seafood, like squids and crustaceans, is more common. Moreover, it is a season of fruits and mushrooms.
- Winter – it’s cold.
So, which season to pick? If you don’t have any special preferences, pick Spring. Why? This season is far away from Winter, which will be definitely the most challenging financially for your restaurant.
Which Specialty to choose in Chef RPG
In the case of Specialty your decision will impact your starting recipes. However, this choice is not crucial. You will get some basic recipes at the beginning of the game regardless of your pick. Moreover, during the game you will learn many more. Just choose the option which will suit you better. Of course, you may include the season in the calculation and think about which ingredients will be the easiest to get in the context of your starting period.
- Rotisseur: +3 meat recipes,
- Poissonier: +3 seafood recipes,
- Entremetier: +3 vegetable recipes,
- Patissier: +3 desserts recipes,
- Mixologist: +3 beverage recipes,
- Saucier: +3 soup recipes.
Which Skills to choose in Chef RPG
One of your first choices will be to spend skill points. To be honest they are not skills but Abilities and they are called that way later in the game. They alone don’t have a tremendous impact on your gameplay, however they unlock Skills later on, and they are important.
So, which one should you pick? As you want to run a restaurant, Cooking is quite important. At the beginning you will spend a lot of time on Gathering, too. Investing 3 points in each of them does not sound like a bad idea. Alternatively, you might want to distribute skills more or less equally, as you will see the in-game skills later on. It is then, when you will decide which ones you want to buy in the first place and are the most suitable for your gameplay. Of course, you will earn more points thanks to leveling up, so you do not miss anything by this starting choice. You will be able to adjust your character accordingly.
