Cheaters Qualified for World Championship Finals
Immediately after the two-week ban for cheating in Fortnite, Damion „XXiF” Cook and Ronald „Ronaldo” Mach qualified to the world championship finals, in which the prize is 30 million dollars.
On May 3, this year Damion "XXiF" Cook and Ronald "Ronaldo" Mach were punished with a 14-day ban for cheating during the elimination stage to the championship in Fortnite: Battle Royale. Shortly after the end of the penalty, however, the duo returned to the championship and with a score of 91 points in the eighth week of the competition qualified to the finals, with $30 million total prize money.
XXiF and Ronaldo were banned when it became clear that they were both competing in the championship with friends who who were intentionally losing to the cheaters, providing them with free qualification points in each round.
However, the ban was too short and did not prevent the duo from returning to the championship. Fortnite's community doesn't hide its indignation at the situation. Players have a grudge against Epic Games, which seems inconsistent in the fight against cheating players. In the past, the company has repeatedly sued fraudsters and people promoting cheat tools. At the moment, the US company does not seem to care at all about the fact that two potentially dishonest players can win a large monetary prize in the Fortnite World Cup.
Every player who qualifies for the finals has a guaranteed prize of at least $50,000. Professional gamers fear that if Epic Games doesn't change its attitude towards scammers and penalties, future Fortnite: Battle Royale competitions may be dominated by cheaters hoping to make a quick and easy profit.
