CD Projekt Acquires The Flame in the Flood Devs
CD Projekt announced acquisition of The Molasses Flood, the studio responsible for, among others, the survival game The Flame in the Flood. What's more, we got to know the first goals of their cooperation.
CD Project has just announced the acquisition of Boston-based studio The Molasses Flood. It was founded in 2014 by industry veterans who have worked on such famous brands as BioShock, Halo, Guitar Hero and Rock Band. The company has two survival games to its credit: Drake Hollow and The Flame in the Flood. Adam Kicinski, president of CD Projekt, commented on the matter as follows:
“We’re always on the lookout for teams who make games with heart. The Molasses Flood share our passion for video game development, they’re experienced, quality-oriented, and have great technological insight. I’m convinced they will bring a lot of talent and determination to the Group.”
The Molasses Flood, although it is to work in close cooperation with CDPR, will remain autonomous and will not be merged with other studios belonging to the CDP Group.. The Boston-based developer will work on its own ambitious project, based on one of CD Projekt's brands.. Details about this mysterious production are to be revealed in the near future.
"“From the inception of The Molasses Flood, it was our goal to create games that touch and inspire people. When CD PROJEKT approached us about the possibility of working together, we saw an incredible opportunity to reach a much wider audience through a collaboration with a company we love, creating games in worlds we love. We could not be more excited to continue our mission with the support of CD PROJEKT and their incredibly talented team," said Forrest Dowling, head of The Molasses Flood.
