In Once Human, Brewing Barrel is a crafting station that allows you to ferment and brew various consumable items, most notably beer, which can restore up to 200 Sanity! The Brewing Barrel typically requires clean water and specific materials depending on the recipe. In this guide, we’ll explore its many uses, including how to produce acid.

Once Human – How to Use Brewing Barrel

Brewing Barrel can be unlocked in Memetics tree in the Logistics tab. It needs to be powered by various sustainable sources, including solar panels, hydroelectric systems, wind turbines, biomass generators, and even anomaly generators.

Every recipe requires Purified Water. Check our Water Pump guide on how to ensure a steady supply of this resource. You can turn any grain into beer; for example, you can use Corn or Wheat to create different varieties of this alcohol. The ratio for the fermentation process is two materials to one purified water, and producing one beer takes 20 minutes.

Getting the perfect product from the Brewing Barrel takes practice – it's easy to mess up the timing. Raw materials can spoil if left in the barrel for too long during the brewing process. So, it’s best to use only fresh ingredients and build multiple barrels if you want to increase production. Be mindful of the quantities you add and regularly check on the progress to avoid wasting food.

Once Human – Acid Production With Brewing Barrel

Making beer isn’t the only use for the Brewing Barrel. You can also set up acid production by connecting it to a Reverse Osmosis Purifier and Water Pump in a polluted area. However, the processing time just isn’t worth the hassle, even with several barrels.

In Once Human, you need a lot of acid to craft items like Gun Powder and waiting 20 minutes for a single material is too long. Perhaps in a Hive Territory, with numerous kegs for production, this method might be efficient.
