Borderlands 3 Sales Will Soon Exceed 7 Million Copies
Take-Two Interactive's financial report contained information that Borderlands 3 will soon sell more than 7 million copies.
- Developer: Gearbox Software
- Publisher: 2K Games
- Genre: Looter Shooter
- Platforms: PC, XONE, PS4
- Release date: September 13, 2019
Gearbox Software has reasons to be satisfied. The latest game of the team, Borderlands 3, has sold almost 7 million copies. This result is all the more impressive as it is less than two months since the game's release. This information was included in the financial report of Take-Two Interactive, the publisher of the project.
Let us remind that Borderlands 3 was released on September 13, this year on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The PC Edition is available only through the Epic Games Store.
The game was a great success. Within the first five days of the launch, 5 million copies were distributed. Such a result made Borderlands 3 the fastest selling title in the history of 2K Games. The game also had a 50% better debut than the second installment of the series.
The title was also warmly received by the industry media. The PC version currently has an average rating of 81% on Metacritic. The PlayStation 4 release is rated at 78% and the Xbox One release at 82%. Our editor also liked the production and gave it a 8.0/10.
It is worth recalling that in August Take-Two Interactive boasted that during May, June and July alone five million additional copies of the older installments of the series were sold. The third part should do just as well, as long as the upcoming additions don't disappoint the fans.
