Borderlands 3 Launches
Today marks the long-anticipated launch of Borderlands 3 - the next installment of the series of shooters with RPG elements, developed by Gearbox Software. The game is available on PCs (Epic Games Store only), PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Today, Borderlands 3 - the latest installment of the co-op first-person shooters with RPG elements from Gearbox Software - debuts on the market. The anticipated game is now available on PC, as well as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but the owners of the first must remember that the title is a temporary exclusive on Epic Games Store - it will be available on Steam in April 2020. The prices of the basic edition are around $59.99.
Borderlands 3 is not a revolution - there are no drastic changes in the proven formula. Instead, the creators decided to develop and expand what worked in the previous parts. We get a bigger world (or rather worlds, because we will be flying on other planets) and more advanced options for developing and personalizing characters (especially more special skills). There was also a solid dose of humour and guns - as far as the latter is concerned, the creators boast that their production includes more than a billion combinations of various tools of death.
Technical issues in the PC version
The PC edition was launched on the market with a few troublesome technical problems. Most of them - fortunately - are quite simple to work around. First of all, you'd better avoid running Borderlands 3 in DirectX 12 - reviewers point out that currently this results in very long loading times, among other things. Secondly, don't panic if the game starts in an unknown language - to change it to English, just go to the Epic Games Launcher settings, find Borderlands 3 and open the "additional command line arguments" section, which should contain the line "-culture=en". (if there is something else in place of "en", change it). Users also report that cut-scenes do not appear properly on ultra wide monitors - unfortunately, no solution has been found to this problem so far.
According to the first reviews we are dealing with a very successful title, which is exactly what we should expect from it. Fans can therefore breathe a sigh of relief, especially as at the development stage, the game time and again aroused various controversies with things such as the microtransactions system, accusations of assault, PI raiding a youtuber's house or... threatening players with bans on the forums due to misgendering of a robot. It is also worth noting that for comfortable playing in 1440p resolution you need a decent rig (below we remind the official hardware requirements).
