BloodRayne: ReVamped and BloodRayne 2: ReVamped Announced on Consoles
Studio Ziggurat Interactive announced remasters of popular vampire action games BloodRayne: ReVamped and BloodRayne 2: ReVamped, coming to PS4, Xbox One and Switch.
After the successful launch of BloodRayne: ReVamped (Terminal Cut) and BloodRayne 2: ReVamped (Terminal Cut) on PC, the remasters' publisher - Ziggurat Interactive - has decided to to release refreshed versions on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch (thanks to the backward compatibility they will albo be available on Xbox Series X|S and PS5). The games are coming to players in digital versions this fall. A limited physical edition will also be released by Limited Run Games, available only for PS4 and Switch.
Remasters are expected to support resolutions up to 4K. Cinematic cut-scenes have been upscaled and lighting improvements have been made at the game engine level. Reflections, water, shadows, and fog have been improved, and support for the original uncompressed textures has been added.
BloodRayne 1 and BloodRayne 2 are third-person action games in which a half-vampire named Rayne tries to thwart the diabolical plans of the Nazis. The series is full of brutality, paranormal action and vampire abilities, spiced with an excellent combat system. The first two installments were acclaimed by fans and critics around the world, resulting in many comic books expanding the universe and even a movie adaptation from 2011.
It's quite likely that the remasters herald another full-fledged installment in the making. Thirsty Rayne fans don't have to wait long as a refreshed version of the third installment - BloodRayne Betrayal: Fresh Bites - has been available for a week now, released on PC, Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and Switch.
