Blizzard Praised for Finally Doing Something Right
Blizzard has decided to nerf a very valuable card in Hearthstone. This time, however, there was no controversy thanks to the company's quick response.
- Hearthstone players are praising Blizzard for generously compensating for a nerfed card;
- The $25 diamond variant of Drek'Thar can be exchanged for dust;
- Cardholders also received a refund of its full value in the form of gold.
Hearthstone has recently received another patch correcting the game's balance. Unfavorable changes were introduced, among others, in the diamond variant of a very valuable card.
Uniquely, however, there were no controversies this time. Potentially disappointed players were reassured by a really generous compensation.
A card worth 25 dollars
The card in question is the diamond variant of Drek'Thar. Back in April it cost as much as $25 or 3000 gold units.
After placing a character on the table and activating its skills, we could immediately summon two more minions. However, the latest patch changed this power. Now Drek'Thar summons only one additional character.
Of course, this means a significant reduction in the value of the said card. Not only is it no longer so important for collectors, but also for players who simply enjoyed using it during their games.
As a consequence, many people decided to take advantage of the option to exchange the card for its dust equivalent. The problem is that the regular version of Drek'Thar and the much more expensive diamond variant were priced at the same amount of resource.
Blizzard reassures players
Apparently, Blizzard employees saw the possible seed of controversy. This is because the company has decided to generously compensate diamond card holders for its nerf.
Every player who purchased the special version of Drek'Thar received 3,000 units of gold, even if they did not exchange it for dust.
Thus, cardholders have received a full refund of the card's value, while still being able to keep it. In turn, if it is not important to them, they will receive both gold and the equivalent value in dust.
So it should come as no surprise that this time the player are mostly happy about the situation. Most fans have appreciated Blizzard's move.
