BioWare Tones Down Expectations for Mass Effect 5 and Dragon Age 4 at EA Play 2021

BioWare disappointed the fans by announcing that no new footage from the new Mass Effect and Dragon Age will be shown at EA Play 2021.

In three weeks this year's edition of EA Play will take place. Unfortunately, those who were hoping for new materials from Mass Effect series continuation and Dragon Age IV will be disappointed, because neither of these games will appear on the publisher's presentation. This bad news was announced on Twitter by BioWare. The team assured that they are working hard on the next installments of these series, but they are not ready to show anything new yet.

The absence of both games is disappointing. The first trailer for the new Mass Effect was shown last December and no new footage has been released since then. Many fans were hoping that the developers would start being more willing to share details after the release of Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, but as you can see, that hasn't happened and we have to be patient for now.

It's even worse in the case of Dragon Age 4. We've been waiting for this game for many years and so far we've received only a few teasers which don't tell much.

BioWare's statement makes us wonder what we'll actually see at EA Play Live 2021. For sure, we can expect materials from the online shooter Battlefield 2042 and discussion about the future of Apex Legends. The first gameplay from Lost in Random has also been confirmed. The company's new sports brands are also likely to be shown, including FIFA 21 and Madden NFL 21.

Yesterday, BioWare revealed Legacy Of The Sith, a new expansion for the MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic, so it is possible that part of the show will be devoted to this DLC. In addition, it is speculated that Electronic Arts may announce The Sims 5 and the continuation of the Dead Space series.

EA Play Live 2021 will start on July 22 at 10 AM PT and will last about 40 minutes. Before that, we will see a short show preceding the main presentation.
