BioShock Remasters to run at 1080p/60fps on next-gen consoles, free PC upgrade confirmed

Bioshock 1, 2, and Infinite running at 1080p/60FPS on next-gen consoles, BioShock 1 and 2 remasters available for free to PC gamers, here are the details regarding BioShock: The Collection.

“Hallelujah,” we could all whisper yesterday, as 2K announced the ascendance of their previous classic titles – BioShock, BioShock 2, and BioShock: Infinite - to the glorious land of remasters. And now, as the news got around, we know even more. To start off – BioShock 1, BioShock 2, and BioShock: Infinite will all be playable at 1080p and in buttery smooth 60 frames per second on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and – of course – PC.

No 30fps or 720p. Only next-gen.

Not only this, if you are a PC player and already own BioShock 1 and/or BioShock 2, you will be getting two-thirds of The Collection for free, only having to update the games through Steam. Why only “two-thirds”, you ask? Well, unfortunately, according to the devs, the latest installment of their award-winning, utopian FPS series, BioShock: Infinite, will be missing out on the “free upgrade” program (although, naturally, it will be included in the PC edition of The Collection). Brighten up, though, for the game still looks great today. And if you are planning on experiencing it for the first time on a next-gen console – prepare to be blown away by its refreshed looks.

BioShock: The Collection is set to hit the stores on September 16th, 2016.
