Beyond Good & Evil 2 in Develompent After All? Ubisoft Said to Be Planning Tests
Beyond Good & Evil 2 is still in development - at least according to popular industry insider Tom Henderson. His sources claim that internal testing of this highly anticipated game will begin in July.
It has been over five years since the announcement of Beyond Good & Evil 2 at E3 2017. We haven't learned much from that presentation about the prequel of the cult classic 2003 action adventure game. From time to time, we only got conflicting announcements and reports - some saying that the game is still being developed, while others talking about its imminent cancellation.
Fans of the first game were certainly a little relieved when a few weeks ago Ubisoft, the developer of Beyond Good & Evil 2, announced recruitment for work on "one of its most ambitious projects." The details of the offer suggested that it was BG&E2 and that the project is still at a fairly early stage of development. However, the overall message was optimistic.
Ubisoft gives hope
In a recent question-and-answer session for investors (the so-called Q&A), Ubisoft was said to have mentioned Beyond Good & Evil 2 again. As reported by popular industry journalist Tom Henderson in an article for eXputer.com, this particular question concerned the company's upcoming release plans. A representative of Ubisoft reportedly gave the following answer:
This information is confidential until the games are officially announced to the gaming community. The games already known include Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Skull & Bones, Mario Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, Roller Champions [this game just came out - ed. note], Star Wars, Beyond Good & Evil 2, the remakes of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell.
Internal testing in July 2022
After this and several other unquoted comments by Henderson from Ubisoft representatives, the journalist's sources were said to have concluded that work on Beyond Good & Evil 2 is progressing.
Moreover, according to them, the game is supposed to have internal tests in July 2022. These will reportedly last longer than those of Tom Clancy's The Division: Heartland or XDefiant, when the company was limited to just one session per week.
Ubisoft Forward in September 2022
If Henderson's reports are true, Ubisoft will surely make an official announcement on the matter soon. On Ubisoft Forward show will be held September 10, 2022, where the French company is expected to reveal information about, e.g. the future of the Assassin's Creed series.
It is possible that we will also see Beyond Good & Evil 2. You can also expect information on such series as Far Cry, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six and Tom Clancy's The Division.
