Battlefield 6 to be Announced in Spring

Battlefield 6 will be revealed this spring, with a release scheduled for the holiday season. The title will take full advantage of the power of the new consoles, offering the biggest online battles in the series.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. Battlefield 6 will be revealed to the world this spring. The launch is scheduled for Holiday season 2021;
  2. The game will offer unprecedented scope of combat operations in the Battlefield series, taking full advantage of the power of next-gen consoles.

Battlefield 6 will be the biggest game in the series to date, taking advantage of the power of next-gen consoles. This was announced by Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson during an investor call held a few hours ago.

Earlier rumors about the Battlefield franchise suggested that BF6 could be aiming at 128 players per server. Combining this with EA's statements, we can deduce that this will indeed be the case. Wilson also confirmed a focus on next-gen consoles and plans to evolve the brand and take it to "another level".

"We're looking forward to sharing a lot more about our FY '22 plans in the months ahead, including our next Battlefield experience, which will mark a return to all-out military warfare. The game takes full advantage of the power of next-generation platforms to bring massive immersive battles to life with more players than ever before. Featuring maps with unprecedented scale, the next edition of Battlefield takes all the destruction, player agency, vehicle and weapon combat that the franchise is known for and elevate it to another level. The team is focused and the game is ahead of our internal milestones," Wilson said in a statement to investors.

Battlefield 6 will be revealed this spring, with a release scheduled for Holiday season 2021. If recent rumors are to be believed, the game will offer skill-based matchmaking (SBMM), improving on the formula known from the latest installments of the Call of Duty series.
