Battlefield 6 Rumored to be Set in Kazakhstan
New rumors claim that Kazakhstan will be the setting of Battlefied 6. This isn't the first time this country has appeared in speculation about this project, which suggests that something may be up.
We have known for a long time that DICE is working on Battlefield 6, but until now no details about the project have been revealed. Therefore, we welcome all rumors about this game with interest. The latest reports seem to confirm earlier speculation that at least part of the action will take place in Kazakhstan.
The source of this information is the Youtuber known as DANNYonPC. He spotted something interesting in last year's tech demo shown during EA Play 2020. In the segment devoted to the next installment of the Battlefield series, when a texture-free model of a man's face is shown, numbers appear in the area above his nose, which, when taken as GPS coordinates, indicate a location in Kazakhstan.
It could be just a coincidence, but it seems quite convincing. This is not the first time that this country appears in the context of speculation about the next installment. Last year, fans discovered something similar in the Eidolon skin available to unlock in the latest Battlefield 5 update, which features a medallion adorned with numbers. When we use them as GPS coordinates we also get a location in Kazakhstan, although different from the numbers from the tech demo.
It is worth recalling that rumors have long suggested a return of the series to modern times. Kazakhstan, by the way, would not be a completely new location for the franchise. This country was the setting for the console game Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, a heavily reworked version of the second installment, which, unlike the PC original, offered a full-fledged single-player story campaign.
We don't know when Electronic Arts will officially reveal the game. Rumors suggest, however, that the first trailer may be released as early as March 23 this year. The project is one of the priorities for EA. The publisher recently decided to send Criterion Games to help DICE with Battlefield 6, which forced the release of the next Need for Speed game to be delayed until 2022.
