Battlefield 6 May Get New Multiplayer Mode and Modified Destruction System

According to rumors that appeared on Reddit, the latest installment of the Battlefield series is to become a hub that will allow multiplayer gameplay in different historical settings. The developers' approach to the destruction system is also supposed to be slightly different.

IN A NUTSHELL:

  1. More rumors about Battlefield 6 suggest that it will allow for 128-player gameplay and feature a battle royale mode;
  2. The game will be a hub that enables us to play in different eras and with different equipment;
  3. The destruction system is expected to focus on smaller things rather than demolishing buildings.

More Battlefield 6 rumors have surfaced on Reddit, and this time they don't concern the setting (at least not directly), but the gameplay mechanics. It seems that we can expect a lot of novelties. One certaint thing is supposedly the battle royale mode and multiplayer, in which 128 players will be able to take part simultaneously. Apparently, a few well-known maps, such as Wake Island, Metro or Locker will also appear in the game.

More interesting, however, are details about the destructibility of the environment and the nature of the game. As for the first issue, apparently the title is to focus on destruction on smaller scale (the author of the entry gives an example of the formation of funnels after the explosion of a grenade). There will also be moments in which we will destroy entire buildings, and the system responsible for this is to be less scripted.

In terms of the gameplay model, Battlefield 6 is said to be a hub in which we'll be able to access games from different eras and with different equipment. In some battles / modes, everything will be limited to specific historical realities, while in others we'll be able to mix and match different elements - for example, fight an M1 Abrams tank with machines from the Second World War. It's also worth noting that BF6 will have a normal campaign with a defined setting (all indications are that it will be Kazakhstan) - the hub will simply be one of the additional features.

Finally, it should be noted that all the above reports are unconfirmed rumors (some on Twitter openly claim the author lies), so approach them with caution.
