Battlefield 6 Launch in Q4 2021, PS4 and Xbox One Versions Announced

Electronic Arts representatives confirmed, during a recent investor call, that the next part of the Battlefield series will hit the market in the fourth quarter of this year. The game will be released on PC, as well as current and last-gen consoles.

IN A NUTSHELL:

  1. Battlefield 6 will be announced next month and will be released in the last quarter of this year;
  2. The game will hit PC and current and last-gen consoles.

Thanks to Electronic Arts' quarterly investor call yesterday, we learned that the latest installment of the Battlefield series will hit the market between October and December this year. The game will be officially announced next month, and in the summer we will learn more about it.

“The game has everything fans love about Battlefield (...) We’re excited to reveal the game to fans next month and share a lot more about the game throughout the summer." stated Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson.

However, this is not all. The president of EA at the same time dismissed rumors that BF6 is to come only to current-gen consoles - The game will be released on five platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.. However, versions dedicated to more powerful devices will be significantly more attractive.

"Battlefield will be available for both current-gen and next-gen as will our sports titles. (...) And in the case of Battlefield, what we can do with respect to the amount of players that we can have in the game, and the nature of destruction and those all-new Battlefield moments that are truly next-gen opportunities that we are able to do in the context of our next-gen franchises because of the increased processing power and memory and output of the new consoles." said Wilson.
