Battlefield 2042 Lets You Repair Penguins
Battlefield 2042 is full of unpolished elements and is far from being a good game in the opinion of many players, but it also has... repairable penguins.
- One Battlefield 2042 player noticed an unusual feature in the game, which enables us to repair penguins;
- The bug is most likely due to developers using the same code to create both small animals and vehicles.
Battlefield 2042 is undoubtedly not the best game we've received this year, but it does have something that other titles don't offer - repairable penguins. Such a feature was found by one player, who did not fail to share his discovery with Reddit.
Out of courtesy we won't pry why user dunaike decided to try the vehicle repair tool on penguins. However, it does not change the fact that he discovered quite an interesting functionality, which does not seem to bother the animals. One can be tempted to say that they look rather unimpressed.
Why does BF 2042 have repairable penguins? It's most likely a matter of game code. It seems like DICE created these birds as small vehicles that move around the map, and they've coded them the same way. Hence the ability to repair penguins with a device that is used to repair combat vehicles.
As other users rightly pointed out in the comments-using one code to create several objects in the game is a common practice in many other titles. This, in turn, makes the player's discovery in question more of a curiosity than a bug per se.
Either way, there's no doubt that Battlefield 2042 needs some fine-tuning. But hopefully updates like the one from December 2 will finally set the game straight.
