Big Update and Weekly Missions Coming to Battlefield 2042
Battlefield 2042 is about to receive a sizable patch and improvement package. Update #3 will also introduce weekly missions and new features in Battlefield Portal.
- On December 2 at 12 AM PT, Battlefield 2042 will receive Update #3;
- This will be the largest of the game's patches to date: the developers promise more than 150 fixes related to the maps, as well as a lot of other improvements and bug fixes;
- In addition, the patch will add new features in the Battlefield Portal mode, including Vehicle Team Deathmatch.
After the recent launch of the so-called Update #2 DICE will release another update for Battlefield 2042 tomorrow. Its size on individual platforms has not yet been announced, but we received a full list of changes. We also know at what time exactly the patch will be coming to BF2042. Update #3 will be available on all platforms on December 2 at 12 AM PT. The developers do not anticipate shutting down servers before the launch of the update.
In terms of new features, we can expect the introduction of weekly missions in Battlefield 2042. Every seven days three new tasks will appear, for the completion of which we will be rewarded with experience points. If we complete them all before the new missions appear, we will receive a unique cosmetic item.
However, it's not such innovations, but removal of bugs that is the most important part of the new update. It includes more than 150 fixes for the maps themselves, related to the detection of collisions between objects, the appearance of players, etc. Update #3 will also fix various glitches in the operation of weapons (including reduced effectiveness of the NWT-50 sniper rifle against vehicles), specialists (including occasional low quality of animation when looking from a greater distance), audiovisuals, etc.
In addition to eliminating bugs, the devs have made improvements to increase the comfort of gameplay (QoL - Quality of Life). The interface during gameplay has been modified to eliminate excessive screen clutter and illegibility. Improvements have also been made to the way BF2042 informs players of events or available options. This applies, for example, to the Collectibles menu: the developers promise that from tomorrow, customizing equipment will require far fewer clicks than it does now.
Update #3 also brings improvements to Battlefield Portal. Those who like to create their own gameplay modes will receive, among other things, a simplified server settings menu and new templates. In addition, the game will feature a new "official mode", Vehicle Team Deathmatch, which, as the name suggests, adds team-based battles involving (only?) vehicles.
As you can see, there is no shortage of changes and improvements, which gives hope for at least a partial fix of Battlefield 2042. Of course, we will be able to see the significance of these improvements only after the launch of Update #3.
