Battlefield 2042 Open Beta Launches; Attack of the Clones
Battlefield 2042 open beta testing has begun. At the same time a hilarious video has hit the web, showing that the battles sometimes look more like the Clone Wars.
Today marks the launch of the open beta of Battlefield 2042, the latest installment in DICE's hit online shooter series. Initially they were to start at midnight, but a slight delay proved necessary, pushing the launch to 2 AM.
The tests will be open to PC players, as well as owners of PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S consoles. The open beta testing will end on October 10. Time to check out Battlefield 2042 will be limited, so we advise you to hurry.
Recall that since October 6 the game is tested by people with preorders and holders of EA Play subscription. This early access ended this morning, and now the developers are preparing the servers for the open beta.
Thanks to these tests we can see with our own eyes Clone Syndrome in the game, as seen in this video shared by one of the players on Reddit. W Battlefield 2042 ditches the series' classic classes, replacing them with operators. This results in some hilarious situations where you'll even find several soldiers with virtually the same look and feel in the same spot on the map. It does not look good, which perfectly illustrates the video.
Generally first impressions from the beta are quite positive and there is no shortage of opinions that in many aspects the game is a return to the solutions of the best installments of the series. Players, however, do not dissolve in delight. The technical condition of the test version is criticized. Beta is to be full of bugs, and the AI bots are very deficient. We can only hope that by the time the full version is released these problems will be solved.
Battlefield 2042 will debut on November 19, 2021. The game will be released simultaneously on Windows PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
