Battlefield 2042 Launch in October, Screenshots and Details Available

The stream, during which the next installment of the Battlefield series is to be officially announced, will start today at 7 AM PT. However, it seems that we already learned the details about the upcoming title. Reddit user known as Popygay managed to dig out some interesting information from the Origin store code.
Above all, according to what Popy was able to find, the new installment of the popular first-person shooter series will be titled Battlefield 2042 and will launch in October. Here's a description of the story background:
“U.S.A. and Russia stand at the brink of war. Proxy wars have waged for decades, generating experienced but displaced combat veterans. These Specialists use their skills to shape the future — a future worth fighting for.”
On release Battlefield 2042 is expected to offer seven maps for up to 128 players competing. According to the leak, each will offer a fair amount of variety - from urban Seoul to the deserts of Egypt.
The game will also include extensive customization options for weapons, vehicles and gadgets. The latter include a robot dog, a grappling hook and a special suit for gliding.
There were also mentions of the Specialists system, based on four classes, typical of the Battlefield series. Each type of soldier is to have one unique specialization and feature. Their equipment will be fully customizable.
Battlefield 2042 will be available in four editions - Standard, Gold and Ultimate. Of course, the more premium the edition, the more bonuses it comes with. The more expensive ones will guarantee early access to the open beta and a number of exclusive items. More details can be found here.
