Recycling in BF 2042; Battlefield 4 Map Returns in Season 5

The developers of Battlefield 2042 have revealed what will be coming to the game next year. Season five will bring back a map from Battlefield 4.

Battlefield 2042 has recently started Season 3 (it has been running since November 22), and Electronic Arts has already revealed details about the next ones. What can we expect in December, as well as next year?

Upcoming updates

The trend of adding redesigned versions of maps will continue in the near future. December's update 3.1 will bring a new Manifest with revised flag placement or tighter spaces. The next update, numbered 3.2, on the other hand, will add an improved version of Split. In addition, we know that this update will reintroduce character classes to BF2042 - which, by the way, has been talked about for a long time. The upcoming character - the last of the specialists - will be a scout.

Season 4.

Season 4 will complete the first year of the game's development, and it will debut in early 2023. Traditionally, it will add a battle pass, a ton of equipment, as well as an improved version of Wrecking Ground and a new map to Battlefield 2042. The latter is expected to be smaller and more linear than the previous ones. More specific information about the season will be announced "soon."

Content for Season 5 is currently in pre-production. Interestingly, it includes a certain map from Battlefield 4. This is its preliminary description:

"Season 5 will focus on previous games and how they can infiltrate the world of 2042. The new season 5 map will be a forgotten battlefield from Battlefield 4 era. It's an overgrown area, full of plants and destruction from the 2042 war. It will encourage combined infantry and vehicle clashes, in view of which teamwork will be important."

Currently free access of the game on Xbox One and Series X/S and Steam is ongoing (until December 5).. From December 16-23, PS4 and PS5 console owners will also be able to test Battlefield 2042 free of charge.
