Possible Battlefield 2042 Beta Launch Date Leaked

The possible launch date of Battlefield 2042 beta has leaked online. Italian retailer Media World accidentally posted it on the game's card.

On the website of Media World (Italian branch of Media Markt), specifically on Battlefield 2042's page for PlayStation 5, someone just prematurely announced beta start date. It would allegedly launch on September 6 and last for 5 days.. Only players who pre-ordered the game by September 3 would be able to take part in it. Open beta for others would also take place in September, but at a later date.

"Pre-order this product by September 3 and you will receive access to the early beta of the game from September 6 to September 11."

The game's publisher, Electronic Arts, has previously confirmed that both users who pre-ordered any version of the game and EA Play subscribers (including those included in an Xbox Game Pass) will receive early access to the beta.

"I'm afraid we can't comment on testing start dates, but we'll keep you updated if there are any changes. Our Open Beta release window is September," an EA spokesperson told VGC when asked about the leak in question.

Fans of the series are impatient with the publisher's silence on revealing the start date of the open tests. Renowned insider Tom Henderson recently shared a message on his profile on Twitter, according to which in the near future we should learn the start time of the beta. He also explained that according to his sources the reason the game hasn't been made available yet is due to some "internal delays" in the final touches. These will reportedly have no impact on the final release of the new Battlefield and the title will be delivered on time.

DICE confirmed the presence of cross-play, as well as cross-platform progression, thanks to which players will be able to play on one device and then continue on another. Battlefield 2042 will be released on October 22 on PC, PS4, XOne, PS5 and XSX|S. Those who have decided to pre-order the Gold Edition, Ultimate Edition or pay for the EA Play Pro Subscription will receive access to the game one week earlier. Subscribers of EA Play and Xbox Game Pass will receive a 10-hour trial on the same day. So there's nothing left to do but grit your teeth and get ready for skyscrapers crashing down all around us...
