Blizzard Needs to Fix Overwatch 2 Heroes; Gifts Inbound
Players are facing more problems in Overwatch 2. The latest bug is causing a lot of frustration, as it affects the (in)availability of some characters.
Overwatch 2 is far from perfect. Just the day before yesterday, our editorial colleague wrote about the review bombing experienced (and rightfully so) by Blizzard Entertainment's new-old game. The title is riddled with microtransactions, strange solutions and numerous bugs. The latter especially give players a hard time.
Bastion and Torbjörn on timeout
The latest, and intensely frustrating problem, is the temporary removal of Bastion and Torbjörn from the game. While the latter can still be used for a quick match, the former has been completely taken out of the game for the moment. Why? Well, both characters were causing problems.
The bug related to Bastion enabled the players to use the ultra version of it all the time, which wreaked havoc on enemy ranks. Torbjörn, on the other hand, can use the Overload skill twice in a row, giving him time to increase his health, movement speed and fire rate. All this is, of course, unintentional, but could significantly affect the course of ranked matches.
Unfortunately Blizzard has not announced when exactly we can expect both bugs to be fixed. Kotaku reports, that after blocking the heroes the company shut down game servers for an hour in order to carry out maintenance work. However, the situation has not changed.
Consolation gifts - will they help?
In order to appease the already very upset players, Blizzard planned for them various gifts and bonuses.
We apologize for any issues players experienced around the game’s launch. To help make up for any lost time, we’re planning to run several Double Match XP weekends: we will confirm the specific dates for these soon. We’ll also be giving all players who log in from October 25 through to the end of Season One an all-new Cursed Captain Reaper Legendary skin and a Health Pack Weapon Charm. These items will become part of your collection from the first time you log in during that time window," we can read on the official website of Overwatch.
It's hard to say whether the gifts will do the job. For the time being, the cup of bitterness is filled almost to the brim. This has resulted in poor reviews on Metacritic. In the case of Overwatch 2 for PC, industry critics rate the game at 81/100, while gamers gave the it a score of just 1.5/10.
