Thanks to a youtuber's interview with the art director of Assassin's Creed: Mirage, we learned a lot of new information about the combat system and Basim, among other elements.

Youtuber JorRaptor had the opportunity to talk with the art director of Assassin's Creed: Mirage, thanks to which we learned some new things about the game.
Fighting
One of the key issues is combat. As it turns out, the battle system will make use of the best solutions from the whole series.
- Only two types of main weapons - swords and daggers - will appear in the game.. In addition, of course, there will be the hidden blade.
- The combat system will resemble that of Assassin's Creed Valhalla. There will be no return to the counterattack-focused mechanics of the early installments.
- All of the character's movements have been developed from scratch, both in terms of combat and parkour, so Basim will move very differently from Eivor in AC Valhalla.
- All kills will require a single hit (in ACV this was only available as an option).
- The controls are expected to facilitate the use of gadgets such as smoke bombs, sleep darts or thrown knives. It's not yet known how it will look like in action. JorRaptor speculates that they will be assigned to a single button, or there will be an opening menu with gadgets.
- The gadgets will be upgradable.
Other gameplay elements
- Most likely, we will not be able to freely choose the elements of the outfit. Each variant will include one complete costume.
- Costumes are to be cosmetic only and will not affect gameplay.
- An eagle trained by the protagonist will appear in the game. It will be able to tag enemies, just like in Origins and Odyssey (this feature did not appear in ACV).
DLC and microtransactions
- Microtransactions will include cosmetic item sets and exploration materials. We are to buy them from digital distribution services. In the game itself, the store will not appear.
- There are no planned expansions for Assassin's Creed: Mirage. The only such content will be the mission The Forty Thieves , available as a bonus in preorders.
AC: Mirage will be released next year. The game will be available on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, as well as on the Amazon Luna streaming service.
