Bannerlord Runs Great on Steam Deck; Dev Praises the Device
The developer of Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord has praised Steam Deck and stated that the game run very well on this hardware even as it is now, and more dedicated improvements are on the way.

As we are slowly approaching the release of Steam Deck, more and more popular game developers are talking about it. Among them is Mustafa Korkmaz from Tale Words, who informed that Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord runs very well on this device.
The developer praised Valve's hardware and said that Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord achieves 60 fps on Steam Deck on medium detail and with 500 units on the battlefield. In addition, the multiplayer is already running well, along with an anti-cheat system.

Korkmaz is the programmer responsible for the game engine, so he knows what he's talking about. The developer also informed that Tale Worlds wants to add improvements to Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord that will make the game even better suited to the specifics of Steam Deck. The plans include a virtual keyboard on the touchscreen and standard setting configuration presets optimized for the device.
In addition, we can expect optimization and controls improvements, designed for the device and its controller. Mustafa Korkmaz believes that there should also be no problems with installing mods via Steam Workshop, although he notes that he has not yet tested this option.
Finally, let's recall that the first Steam Deck consumer models will start shipping on February 28. Unfortunately, all units prepared for next month have already been purchased. If you make a reservation today, you will have to wait for delivery until the second half of 2022.
