Avatar Aang Will Return to Save the World Thanks to Avatar Studios
The creators of Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra have rejoined Nickelodeon after parting ways with Netflix. Avatar Studios will soon begin work on more animations set in the universe.
Avatar: The Last Airbender is an animated series that captured our hearts long before streaming platforms took over. After a decent animated sequel (Avatar: Legend of Korra) and a live-action movie we'd rather forget, the brand disappeared from screens and fans had to settle for comics coming out from time to time. However, Avatar will return and save the world once again. The newly formed Avatar Studios will provide us with more stories set in the beloved universe.
The coming years will be full of adventures of Aang and other masters of the four elements. Currently, two different studios are involved in productions dedicated to the universe. In 2018, Netflix decided to create a live action remake of the series. The creators of the iconic original Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko were engaged to work on the title. However, they left the project due to differences of opinion and Netflix's failure to keep its promises.
Both men returned to the place where Aang's adventure began, that is, Nickelodeon. In conjunction with the debut of the Paramount Plus streaming platform, Avatar Studios was established. A special division of Nickelodeon is set to provide the service with content related to the Four Elements universe. According to Comicbook, the studio's first upcoming production is a feature-length animated production that will hit theaters. Subsequent projects will premiere on Paramount Plus and Nickelodeon.
Paramount Plus will debut on March 4 and will offer two types of subscriptions: a cheaper one with limited ads and a more expensive one completely free of them.
