New Video From Atomic Heart Shows Wonderfully Strange Soviet World of the Game

A 6-minute piece of footage from Atomic Heart, showing an alternative history of the Soviet Union, has appeared online. There were also new gameplay fragments.

The premiere of Atomic Heart is finally not just an undefined point in the future. The title's debut date is approaching, and developers from Mundfish are revealing more and more cards. Today, a 6-minute footage showing the game world, characters and alternative history of the Soviet Union, appeared on the IGN channel on YT.

In the universe of Atomic Heart the USSR has made significant advances in robotics. This began in the second half of the 1930s, when the technology of compact storage media was developed. Thanks to them, it was possible to create many advanced machines.

One of the scientific centers of the Soviet Union is Facility 3826, where research related to medicine and botany, among other things, was conducted. Importantly for the plot, the possibility of merging robots with humans was also researched at the facility - and this experiment ended with the revolt of the machines. It is at this point that the story presented in the title will begin. As an agent known as P-3, we will end up at the facility to investigate what exactly happened there.

In addition to the story itself and the universe the footage also shows us new gameplay footage. Among other things, we see on it a variety of locations that have been created to suit the needs of the research team.

Atomic Heart will debut on February 21, 2023 on PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. In addition, the title will be available through an Xbox Game Pass subscription from launch day.
