- Developers promise smooth gameplay even on PS4.
We have good news for players looking forward to the release of Atomic Heart, a promising FPS set in a retrofuturistic version of the Soviet Union. It seems that after many years of development the work on it is finally coming to an end.
We found out about it through an update to the FAQ on the game's official Discord channel. Admittedly, Mundfish didn't provide a specific date in the section devoted to the release date, but the developers have revealed that they have finished working on the content of Atomic Heart and are currently fine-tuning the game. They assured that the wait for the project will soon come to an end.
The developers also explained that they are not giving a specific release date for now, as they would not want to have to postpone it later if there were any delays. The release process will be quite complicated, as the developers have to coordinate with the localization team and Microsoft, as Atomic Heart will be available on Game Pass from the day of its debut. On top of that, together with the publishers, they want to choose a release date that avoids a direct clash with other big-budget projects.
In the FAQ, the developers also confirmed that while the story will be linear, the game will offer two different endings. Furthermore, Mundfish assured that Atomic Heart already runs well on PlayStation 4, offering smooth and stable gameplay. This declaration should reassure those who feared a repeat of Cyberpunk 2077, in which case last-gen consoles was treated with neglect.
Moreover, the devs informed that any decisions regarding expansions will be made only after the release of Atomic Heart. The developers do not like the practice of cutting out ready-made elements from games and then selling them as DLCs and do not intend to go down this road.
