First Look at Protagonist of Assassin's Creed Red, The „Japanese” Installment
New reports have emerged about the heroine of Assassin's Creed: Red. It is likely that we have learned her name and story. She is expected to follow similar themes as Bayek from AC: Origins.
It's been more than a year since the announcement of the next "big" Assassin's Creed installment (AC: Mirage is, in fact, relatively small). The game known under the code name AC: Red is being developed by Ubisoft Quebec - the team that previously developed, among others, AC: Odyssey - and it is expected to represent "an evolution of Ubisoft's concept of creating open worlds."
We know that Assassin's Creed: Red will take us to Japan of the Edo period. Meanwhile, there were also reports that the game was to offer two playable characters - a male samurai and a female shinobi (i.e. from a ninja clan). New info has now emerged about the latter.
It was spotted on the profile of Pierre Boudreau - one of the writers of Assassin's Creed - on Linkedin.com. Specifically, they were found by the user known as j0nathan, known for publishing unofficial material from Ubisoft's series (via Idle Sloth).
- The character's name is said to be Naoé/Naoi. The Japanese characters seen on the right side of the screenshot below likely represents her very name:
- The story of this protagonist is said to be similar to that of Bayek from AC: Origins. A member of the Order will kill her father, and she will decide to take revenge and consequently become a shinobi.
It should be remembered, of course, that we are dealing with a leak in which conjecture plays a large role. In other words, until the release of Assassin's Creed: Red, which is reportedly planned for 2024 - a lot may change. It is worth keeping in mind here the situation with AC: Valhalla. According to early reports the protagonist of that game was to be named Jora. As it later turned out, it was changed to Eivor.
