Assassin's Creed Mirage Gone Gold and Got New Release Date
The latest installment of the popular Assassin series has gone gold. The updated release date additionally reveals the game will be playable a little earlier.
Assassin's Creed fans impatiently awaiting the release of the latest installment were in for quite a surprise today. As a recent post on Twitter/X revaled, the latest installment of the series has just gone gold, and its release will take place a week earlier than originally expected. Assassin's Creed: Mirage will hit store shelves on October 5.
In the game industry the term "going gold" is used to describe a situation when the work on a game is officially completed and in this form can be transferred to physical media (albeit with polishing still underway until the release, resulting in an update - usually not a small one - available for download at the time of debut).
As a reminder: Assassin's Creed: Mirage will take the player to 9th-century Baghdad. Promotional materials published so far clearly suggest that the game is to be a kind of return to roots. Nevertheless, it will not lack innovations and mechanics characteristic of the latest parts, with AC: Valhalla in the lead (Mirage was originally conceived as a DLC for that game).
The game will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
