Assassin's Creed Mirage Devs on DLC and Controversial Mechanic
A QA thread on Reddit brought us a ton of information about the upcoming Assasin's Creed Mirage.
Launch of Assassin's Creed Mirage will take place on October 12, and in the meantime we learn more details about Ubisoft's upcoming game.
This time, new information on Mirage comes from the source - the developers themselves, who answered numerous inquiries from users of the subreddit dedicated to games that tell the story of the brotherhood of assassins.
Developers under a barrage of questions
What did the developers of Assassin's Creed Mirage revealed? A Q&A session on the "Assassin's Creed" subreddit brought answers to several burning questions. In addition to the issue of possible future DLC for the game, there were also questions about specific mechanics, which the developers were eager to answer.
Here are a handful of the most interesting information from that thread.:
- For the moment, the developers are not planning any expansion for Mirage nor do they assume to support the title with additional content after the release;
- The developers have confirmed that Mirage was originally intended only as a major expansion to Valhalla, however, after just one week it was decided that Basim deserved its own story;
- in the game we will not experience the free "throws and jumps" to the sides and known from, for example, Unity; the developers are still working on the parkour, which is supposed to be as fluid as possible and give a sense of control over the protagonist;
- the game is linear, but the storyline will allow for a bit of freedom. After the mandatory first mission, you will be able to start investigations in any of the city's districts, in any order;
- Assassin's focus, that is problematic skill that allows for quick elimination of multiple opponents, will be possible to use only outside of "open combat" situations and after filling the "silent kill" bar;
- in terms of the hero's appearance, costumes and outfits will be available in the game. Outfits are the official outfits that Basim would wear in "real life" (like the assassin outfit). Costumes, on the other hand, are, so to speak, equipment that will provide certain profits;
- We will be able to dye outfits but not costumes. In addition, there will also be a transmod option;
- Basim will have to wear different outfits to gain access to certain restricted areas;
- Interestingly, revealed in earlier images from the game, talismans will only act as cosmetic elements. Some of them are expected to be extremely difficult to find in the game world;
- Basim will not be able to put on a hood on demand - he will do so only in certain situations;
- the option to hide among people will be automatic if Basim is among a group of at least three people;
- assassination contracts, available in assassin offices, will not be randomized, but hand crafted;
- the mini-quests known from Valhalla in the form of events, secrets and treasures will return;
- side activities in Mirage will also include pickpocketing and chases, mechanics familiar from the first installments of the series;
- in Baghdad we will have the opportunity to visit a zoo, and the game will not lack animals such as Syrian ostriches and flamingos;
- outside Baghdad itself in Mirage we will also visit other locations, such as the zigurat of Dur-Kurigalz;
- it has been confirmed that Mirage will feature a photo mode;
- a quick save option will also be available in the game;
- interestingly, the game is still to be "polished" graphically.
