Arrest People and Collect Taxes Thanks to True Thane Mod for Skyrim
User OneOnOne1162 created a mod called True Thane for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which increases the hero's privilages when they becomes a hold's thane. The project is available for both the regular version, as well as Legendary and Special Edition.
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and its Special Edition received a mod called True Thane.
- It expands the list of privileges that are associated with obtaining the title of Thane in a given region.
- In the current version, the mod can only be enjoyed in the Whiterun and Falkreath areas.
Those familiar with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim know very well that the main character (or heroine) of the title, after completing several tasks, can become a Thane (or a nobleman) in any region of the game world. Unfortunately, the privileges associated with the title can be quite disappointing for some. We receive a weapon (and not even a very good one, especially for high-level characters), authority to pardon ourselves for minor crimes, and possibly the possibility of buying a property and acquire a companion in the form of a Houscarl. If you don't like this relatively small list of facilities and would like to expand it, you will probably be interested in a mod called True Thane, which launched on Nexus Mods in recent weeks. You can find links to it below.

True Thane mod was created by OneOnOne1162, who already has some experience in creating unofficial expansions for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (he prepared additional skills for vampire characters). Thanks to his latest project, after receiving the status of Thane in the area of Whiterun or Falkreath (in the current edition the mod works only in these two regions, but it will change in the future), in addition to the privileges listed in the introduction, we will get the options to collect taxes, arrest or intimidate any residents, make inspiring speeches, appoint new Housecarls or travel together with up to twelve guards (the number must be set in the configuration). In addition, we can expect discounts in shops, special armor, the option to exchange our Thane weapons for better or unique privileges depending on the region (for example, in the case of the Whiterun we will get access to a free horse).
A very interesting element of True Thane are also the new special skills. The protagonist can use a power called Thane of Hold, which in the current version of the mod is able to calm down any NPC from the Thane's region and scare NPCs from beyond it. The Housecarl, on the other hand, can take a fatal blow for us, and once a day increase their and our combat skills.
Detailed descriptions of the aforementioned attractions introduced in True Thane can be found here. There is also a list of known bugs and compatible, incompatible and recommended fan mods, as well as a link to Patreon in case we want to financially support the creator of the project.
We remind that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim celebrated its ninth birthday this year. Thanks to the thriving modding scene, which gave birth to True Thane or Tavern Games - Mini Games in Skyrim the title is still very popular. According to the data from Steam Charts, yesterday, at the peak of the day, more than 20 thousand people enjoyed the Special Edition of Bethesda's work.
