ARK: Survival Evolved release date pushed back
ARK: Survival Evolved is not coming out on August 9, 2017, but a couple of weeks later. The same goes for the free Ragnarok DLC.
After having spent a couple of years in Steam Early Access, last month it was finally announced that the full version of ARK: Survival Evolved was to launch for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on August 9, 2017. However, that date is no longer valid. The crazy survival game with dinosaurs is coming out about three weeks later than planned – on August 29 – due to the certification process for retail release having taken longer than expected. Fortunately, ARK: Survival Evolved has already gone gold, so the new date is pretty much solid.
That also means that the free DLC Ragnarok is coming to consoles later too, on Augsust 29. The same applies to the next big PC update, which is now going to be even bigger than initially planned. Here’s the official word on that:
On the date of release, the overground of the world will increase by approximately one quarter, which is near-enough a 'TheIsland-sized' expansion; the update will feature new biomes, a coastal Wyvern canyon, an epic boss encounter, new engrams, and something secret the Ragnarok team are cooking up! We will also be adding their custom creatures to our main game, which will allow players to transfer them via the CrossARK system, so you'll be able to bring over your Ice Wyverns to The Island, The Center, and Scorched Earth!
The developers also promise major changes to multiplayer bosses as well as fixes to some issues, including The Baby-to-Juvie-Stasis issue and The Center & Under the Mesh, which allows players to go under the map and harass others.
