Are You Cheating in Overwatch? The System Will Stop the Match
Blizzard has announced that the new cheat prevention system will automatically stop an Overwatch match if it detects any player's malicious activity. It's a new way to fight cheaters.
On the official YouTube Overwatch channel, a short video has appeared, presenting the changes and novelties that will soon appear in the game. They are presented by Jeff Kaplan, game's director. Despite the short runtime, the video contains some very interesting information. However, by far the biggest novelty is that the new anti-cheat system will automatically end a match if it detects that any player has been cheating. You can rest assured, however - as the creator assured, none of the users (honest of course) will be punished with a loss of points due to the game being interrupted.
Jeff Kaplan did not reveal how the system would manage to find the cheater. He only stated that a cheater can expect a very severe punishment in such a situation, which also does not reveal anything concrete. Let's hope that Blizzard's new security measures really do hit rogue users and that it doesn't turn out that the victims will somehow be honest players.
It is also worth mentioning that the devs are still working on the subtitling system. All because of deaf or hard of hearing people. Jeff Kaplan also assured us that the team is still in the process of designing hero number 31, but this one will be presented a little later than expected. At the moment we don't know any details about the new character, but we can assume that it will be a man, because Jeff strongly articulated the word "he".
If you are waiting for the Summer Games event, you can rest assured that it will be coming sooner than usual. This year is expected to be more extensive and instead of one challenge, players should expect a mini-challenge every week (of the three that the event will last). The prizes will be unique character skins.
