Appreciated Shooter Moves to UE5; Everspace 2 With Major Promotion
The highly regarded Everspace 2 received a major Incursion update. The patch ported the game to Unreal Engine 5 and introduced a new type of quest modeled on horde modes.

To celebrate the premiere of the Incursion update, the price of Everspace 2 on Steam and GOG.com has been reduced by 50% ($24.99), while in the PS Store, it's 40% cheaper (you can buy it there for $29.99).

Rockfish Games has released a new update for the space shooter Everspace 2. The patch was titled Incursion.
- The patch moved the entire game to Unreal Engine 5 (until now, Everspace 2 was using UE4).
- The patch also brings the fact that from a certain point in the campaign, transmitters will begin to appear in space for destruction. These tasks are inspired by the horde modes found in shooter games. So, we must combat successive enemy waves and diminish the shields of the transmitters to ultimately destroy them and thus halt the enemy invasion. Successes in these challenges are generously rewarded with legendary items.
- In total, the patch adds fifteen new types of legendary components.
The update also refreshes the Shadow Strike Ultimate ability for the Scout subclass, allowing them to extend their camouflage time by quickly eliminating enemies. Additionally, it improves controls, both on consoles and PC.
PC gamers have finally received full support for playing with DualShock 4 (PS4) and DualSense controller (PS5). The devs haven't yet implemented the option to change the button assignments on the console pads, but they assure that this functionality will be available soon.
The Incursion patch also introduced improvements to the photo mode and additional cosmetic objects.
Everspace 2 debuted on PC in early access in January 2021, and version 1.0 was released in April last year. On August 15, 2023, we received releases for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PlayStation 5. The title is also available in Game Pass.
Players really appreciate Everspace 2. The best proof of this is the fact that the game has 88% positive reviews on Steam. Consistent game development plays a significant part in this. We hope that Incursion will prove to be another successful update.
