Alien: Isolation-like sci-fi survival horror called Phantaruk officially announced
Phantaruk is a newly announced survival horror game that bears some resemblance of Alien: Isolation. The project is being developed by Polish game industry veterans.
Players who love feeling shivers down their spine can add another title to their wait list. Phantaruk is a reannounced sci-fi survival horror from Polish developer Polyslash – made up of former employees of The Farm 51 (Painkiller Hell & Damnation), Reality Pump (Two Worlds), Tate Interactive (KAO the Kangaroo), and Bloober Team (Layers of Fear). The plan is to release the game as soon as in August 2016 on Steam for PC and possibly Mac/Linux. Xbox One and PlayStation 4 editions are under consideration.

The game will take you into a distant future where humans were able to fuse their bodies with technology, thus creating a post-human, devoid of imperfections of the flesh. You’ll get to play as a victim of transhuman experiments, who gets sent onto Purity-02 spaceship, where the research is being conducted. It quickly turns out, though, that the ship has become a death trap as a mysterious beast called Phantaruk started killing everyone on board.
The location design in Phantaruk was inspired by Doom 3 and Dead Space, so we can expect lots of tight corridors and dark rooms. The devs are promising an omnipresent feeling of danger achieved through sophisticated scaring techniques. The game will feature an original health system based on the character’s pulse – you will have to use syringes to stop the toxins from infecting your body as well as look for flashlight batteries, which will be essential for survival.
