Aggressive Drivatars Enrage Players in Forza Horizon 5
Players have a problem with the AI in Forza Horizon 5. It turns out that on higher difficulty levels, AI-controlled drivatars are often unbeatable.
- Forza Horizon 5 players complain that the proficiency of drivatars in high difficulty level is too high;
- On Invincible, Pro, and Expert levels, the AI drivers often don't give the players a chance.
While we usually complain about the stupidity of artificial intelligence in games, the opposite is true for Forza Horizon 5. On the highest difficulty levels, it turns out that the AI's so called drivatars are the enemies that cannot be defeated. And although it is known that the high difficulty is not intended to be easy, the player convince that drivatars on the "Invincible" difficulty are indeed impossible to beat.
Both on Reddit, as well as on the official forum of Forza, you can hear players unpleasantly surprised by the fact that the AI-controlled rivals are are that good.
In theory, the drivatars from the Forza series are something more than AI-controlled opponents. Their job is to simulate the driving of real players and learn their behaviour - at least that's what the developers claim.
This is how user HardB4SSJunkiE describes his experience so far:
"Is it just me, or are drivatars too unbalanced at the moment? Yes, we all wanted more of a challenge than in FH4, but Jesus Mary, those drivatars in FH5 they're running on rails! Invincible is virtually unbeatable... and I'm not a bad driver. The Pro level drivatars are also OP; I have trouble keeping up with the drivatars at Expert level! It's terribly frustrating."

It seems that on the highest difficulties (from the end, these are: Invincible, Pro and Expert), defeating some drivatars borders on the miracle. As referenced by player RocktamusPrim3:
"The only way I manage to keep up with them is to overtake all of them at the start, and if I'm not in first place halfway through the race or on the last lap, chances are good that I won't even manage to get second place, so I start the race all over again."
Of course, it's not like the drivatar AI is an almighty force that can't be beaten in any way, but the fact that posts about the difficulty being too high have gotten a lot of publicity on the forums shows that something is up. The problem with the drivatar "skill" balance remains unresolved.
