After 6 Years, Pillars of Eternity Received New Patch. Update Removes Old Exploit
Pillars of Eternity received its first update in years, upgrading the RPG's technical layer and improving gameplay.
The devs of Pillars of Eternity have released a new update for the PC version after over 6 years. Patch 1.3.7.1377, which was available for testing since the beginning of the year, is now released in a stable version. It requires downloading about 14 GB of data, but after installation, the game is expected to take up significantly more disk space (over 50 GB; via Steam).
Of course, this isn't a patch with new content. The update includes several technical improvements, such as transitioning to a new version of the Unity engine and DirectX 11. Furthermore, there are modifications to the audiovisual layer, such as the T-Pose of characters at the start of certain cutscenes and issues with different special effects.
Patch 1.3.7.1377 also contains fixed quests and gameplay mechanics for Pillars of Eternity. The developers removed a bug that caused character effects to double when loading saved game states, as well as the incorrect operation of talents such as Psychic Backlash and Brutal Backlash, which were mistakenly activated multiple times during a fight instead of just once.
You can find the full list of changes in version 1.3.7.1377 in the announcement published on the Pillars of Eternity card on Steam. The question is, did the update come out just before the summer game shows by accident, or is it part of a larger plan?
