The Nintendo Direct brought with it the return of some of the forgotten series known from Nintendo consoles. Apart from the new Metroid and Super Monkey Ball, the company also announced the appearance of the Advance Wars series on Switch. This will take the form of refreshed versions of the first and second installment as part of the Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp set.

Both installments have been recreated "from scratch", which will translate into replacing the classic 2D by 3D models. It was not stated whether this will also translate into changes in gameplay, although the trailer and the description on Nintendo's official website suggest that the devs will remain faithful to the original. Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp will launch on Switch on December 3.
