Adam Kicinski on Errors in Cyberpunk 2077: Hotfixes Inbound
CD Projekt's CEO spoke about the launch of Cyberpunk 2077. Kicinski mentioned the errors and promised to implement fixes as soon as possible.
The expected debut of Cyberpunk 2077 was very successful, but unfortunately not without some serious problems. The number of bugs is huge, and although some of them are at most funny, there are also some things that more or less spoil the pleasure of playing the game. CD Projekt RED is aware of the situation, which was additionally confirmed by Adam Kicinski. CD Projekt's CEO mentioned the topic in an interview with Polish news outlet Onet.pl.
CD Projekt's CEO says that most of the problems reported by the players can and will be remedied. The creators are constantly working on hotfixes, which will be made available on an ongoing basis to gradually reduce the number of bugs. He didn't want to give us the exact time when we will see the first hotfixes, but it is supposed to happen "soon". He also stressed that problems in the PC version appear, quote, "on some configurations", and the number of visual errors is "unnoticeable". He provided similar information in a separate statement (via Biznes PAP [in Polish]), in which he also mentioned that CD Projekt did not consider another delay:
"We're working all the time preparing hotfixes, we'll release them to minimize the number of troubles experienced by the players [...]. It's only when we deliver the game to the players that we find out about certain things. Sure, we'd prefer there to be fewer mistakes, but we didn't consider a fourth delay."
At the same time, Kicinski assured us that after dealing with the problems in Cyberpunk 2077 (or at least most of them) CD Projekt will take some time to rest and reflect. However, the company also intends to consider organisational improvements. This may have to do with the scandals erupting around behind the scenes of the development process and crunch in CD Projekt RED, although the company's CEO did not refer to them in any of the statements. For now we are waiting for the promised fixes.
