Activision Blizzard Sued Again; Harassment and Psychological Violence
Activision Blizzard has been hit with another lawsuit. Once again, it is related to employee mistreatment.
- Activision Blizzard has been sued by an anonymous female employee;
- The accusation concerns the behavior of people who have held or still hold executive positions in the company;
- They are alleged to have committed harassment and psychological violence against the employee.
Activision Blizzard has been struggling for a very long time. The company has been flooded with accusations of inadequate treatment of its employees.
There is no indication that this is about to change. The giant has been targeted by another lawsuit, this time from an anonymous employee of the company. The complaint on her behalf was filed by The Bloom Firm (via TechSpot).
The letter includes accusations hitting several current or former Activision Blizzard employees mentioned by name. The complaint also involves 25 people whose identities were not revealed.
Psychological abuse and harassment at work
From the letter we learn that an anonymous female employee repeatedly complained about the behavior of the company's management. People on higher positions are said to have notoriously violated her personal space.
The employee recalls, among others, Marek Skorupa, who on the very first day of work complimented her inappropriately. He repeatedly sought unwanted physical contact.
In the lawsuit, one can also read about the awkwardly long "hugging" or touching of the employee's legs. The employee was said to have made it clear that she did not like this type of behavior.
Reporting the problem to the HR department had no effect. Its members were said to have concluded that the management was simply trying to be nice to her.
Not only a lack of reaction
Not only did reporting the problem not help the employee, but it actually made her situation worse. She was forbidden from raising the issue in public because it could harm the company.
In addition, the management was said to have used psychological violence against her. Unfavorable comments were made about her on many occasions, and she was blocked from workplace advancement.
The Bloom Firm's complaint thus includes allegations of harassment, failure to respond to employee concerns, sexual favoritism, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and instances of retaliation by management.
The company has not addressed the complaint at this time.
